Years ago, I read a book to my kids entitled “Caps for Sale”. It’s a story about a man peddling caps as he balances the huge stack on his head. One afternoon he settles against a tree for a nap. The tree was full of monkeys who stole his caps and when he awoke the fun began of gathering them from the bandits!
Moms often remind me of this peddler; they wear many hats. Moms are daughters, sisters, wives/partners, cooks, taxi drivers, house cleaners, friends, mentors, accountants, coaches, paramedics (usually in the middle of the night!), employees, committee members, caregivers, etc. Sometimes, like the peddler, the hats get hard to balance because things get out of control.
